Walt Hines

My career reflects a lifetime commitment to design excellence in sports marketing, entertainment, medical and health care, real estate marketing, advertising and fine arts. I've taught design and art for 13 years at Northern Illinois University, as well as West Virginia University, the University of Miami, Palm Beach State College and Indian River State College.

Currently, I am an Associate Professor at Indian River State College where I teach mostly upper division and portfolio classes for the Bachelor of Applied Science in the Digital Media program.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Fine Art from West Virginia University and a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Miami. In my teaching career I have taught some of the most talented designers in this country including Mike Stees, Dana Arnett, Mike McMillan, John Vieceli, Scott Johnson, Karen O'Connor, Martha Perez, Al Grivetti, Marjorie Shropshire, Doug Chilton, Roger Mallot, Lesley Driver and Ahmad Toom.

Over the past two decades I have worked as an art director and consultant for the Sunrise Theatre, the City of Fort Pierce, FL, Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club - Vero Beach, FL, the Navy UDT-Seal Museum, St. Lucie County, the Rockland Boulders Baseball Team, the United Way, Physician Corporation of America, Exclusive Sports Marketing, Optix - 3D Digital Corp, Golden Bear International, Big Ten Conference, Midwestern Collegiate Conference, Mid-Continent Conference and the Mid-American Conference. I have designed over 100 PGA, SENIOR PGA and LPGA Tour tournament magazines and won numerous awards for publications and identity systems in sports marketing.

From 2005-2007 I managed the Dario Gallery at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Florida which featured regional artists, photographers and designers. The 2nd and 3rd Annual National Painting, Drawing and Printmaking competitions highlighted the gallery events with national artists from all of the country. The shows were selected from hundreds of entries and judged by the Curators of the Lowe Art Museum and The Jacksonville Museum of Art.

The Dario Gallery collection includes lithographs by pre-eminent Russian artists from the last quarter of the 20th century. In the collection are works by Wassily Kandinsky, Mihail Chemiakin, Shimon Okshteyn and Alexandre Zlotnik.

My success has been achieved through hard work and dedication built within my family to work harder than everyone else for success. My life's work is dedicated to my children, David and Brooke.
